Lake Safety: Jay Weber reminded boaters that they need to be familiar with the boating and personal watercrafts laws before operating either on the lake. Rules can be found on the DNR and SECOLA website. Please be aware of the channels that are NO WAKE channels.
Wake Boat/Wake Safety: Scott Reynolds reported he has had several complaints about loud, vulgar music and significantly high wakes on shorelines, through the channels or close to other boats. Shore erosion is a big concern. A copy of the “Best Boating Practices” that the committee has written is available on the SECOLA website.
Open Forum: An issue was brought up about the vandalism on the South Lake Bridge where someone wrote graffiti. Graffiti was also found on the small bridge going into East Lake. If you have any information on who committed the crime please contact the Florence County Sherriff’s Department.
