Boat Parade

July 4, Spread Eagle WI

Participants:

Please plan on getting your registration number at the Marina on Railroad Lake by 12:45 pm. Parade organizers will be there at approx 12:20 to begin registration. Prepare to safely dock in order to receive the participant certificate, obtain rules and regs, and register with pertinent information.

Boat Parade Rules and Regs:

 1) Once assigned a number, please stay in the line up. Follow the boat in front of you. A designated leader will be appointed to lead the parade through all navigable lakes on the Spread Eagle Chain.

2) Remain in the parade until the end. Remember: many people on the lakes are counting on you and your entry to entertain them.

3) Be mindful of safety and safe distance from shore, docks, rafts, and boats around you.

4) Hold your number up high at the judge's stand (to be announced) Drive slowly by them so they have time to tabulate your scores.

5) Be aware that others from shore can be mischievous. Though SECOLA  has discouraged activity of this type in the newsletter, it is not accountable for the behavior of the spectators. Be prepared for water balloon launch, squirt guns, and other nonsense, just in case.

6) After the parade, stay close to contact phone. The parade administrators will notify you by phone and deliver the trophies immediately after the parade.

7) Awards:

1st and 2nd place in the following categories:

a). Pontoon

b). Other boats

Honorable mention will be distributed to three additional entries.

8) Come back next year...and above all,

9) Have fun!

Criteria for judging includes:

  • Adherence to theme
  • Creative use of materials
  • Attention to detail and evidence of craftsmanship and effort
  • Vibrant, colorful presentation
  • Originality
  • Inspirational  (for example: use of costuming, role playing, technology, use patriotic themes, enthusiasm of participants).
